Regular care ensures optimal performance and a quality sound experience. On the other hand, neglecting it can lead to a buildup of dust, dirt, and debris, which can affect its performance and longevity. Start by clearing dust from sensitive components. Dust particles can clog vents and interfere with cooling mechanisms, leading to overheating issues. Therefore, keep vents clear and prevent any potential damage. All woodwork and acrylic on your speakers should be dusted off regularly and, only if needed, cleansed with a slightly damped cloth only using water. Bass and midrange drive units can also be carefully cleansed with a damp cloth but take care not to damage or fracture the fragile cone and rubber surrounding. Never attempt to clean the delicate HF unit. Also check for any loose connections or cables that can disrupt audio quality. Cables can become worn out or disconnected due to movement. Inspect and reposition them to avoid any audio disruptions or signal loss. Connectors, Fittings, Bars and Pods must be inspected regularly and if required, screwing joints on mounting bars/pods oiled with few drops of acid free oil.

Moisture and humidity should also be avoided. They can cause corrosion of electronic components, resulting in irreversible damage. Keep your hi-fi system in a dry environment and use protective covers when needed. Wood is a “living” material that will react on the environment as known with delicate furniture. It´s advised to ensure that your speakers are not exposed to rapid humidity and temperature changes, direct sunlight, and small fingers. Finally, regular servicing by an audio systems specialist is also important. They have the knowledge and tools to perform thorough inspections, clean inaccessible parts, and spot potential issues before they worsen. Any omitted maintenance work can impair the life and functionality of the components, without giving rise to defect claims against the Supplier.
